Working with Country, Community and Culture
We understand that professionals working in the built environment industry are eager to consider Country, community and culture into their practice. Currently, there are limited training opportunities to learn about these integral topics in a tailored First Nations cultural training format. At Zion Engagement and Planning, we have developed a suite of training materials within our Flagship training course, to provide industry specific training to build confidence and awareness in how to work with First Nations Country, community and culture.
Tailored Learning
Our Flagship training course, provides an opportunity for participants to actively engage with our experienced and qualified team of First Nations professionals. The course has been developed to be an interactive yarn for participants through a culturally safe environment, to ask questions and be curious around how they can embed First Nations Knowledges into their practice.
The course is delivered through our training videos which have been developed to support the learning experience through visual storytelling. Interactive digital forums and work books support the group and self learning sections. Group discussions with shared reflections encourage our participants to grow their cultural capacities together. We facilitate an online group workshop to learn from each other and consider how to improve working with Country, community and culture.
Our Flagship training brings First Nations voices and perspectives into the training, including First Nations people who work with built environment professionals. We encourage deep thinking, and participants will make personal commitments regarding how they will embed this new knowledge they’ve gained into their professional practice and personal lives.
